#inspo to good writing

I think there is a lot that makes up good nonfiction writing and it differentiates with every writer, but from my point of view a good nonfiction writing will serve a clear purpose. This means that ideas will be organized and on track and the writing will be easy to follow and flow nicely. From the perspective of the reader, you need to draw in and grab the attention right away. Give them something to look forward too and want to continue to read. I think it's super important to create an outline before beginning because it will help keep your ideas on track as you get further along with your writing. In the reading by Caroline Seide, she begins her writing by instantly grabbing the readers attention and making them want more. She makes sure not to put too much into the introduction because that can tend to lose the readers interests. I think the beginning of her article was effective because it left the readers wanting to know more about William Shakespeare and the entertainment he created. The second reading was on The Atlantic, it was an article about the art of nonfiction. This article was good overall, it started and again the author grabbed the readers attention. This author also includes facts in his article to support ideas that he wrote about. This was effective because it adds more realism to his article having hard facts to support his ideas. The first article included a thesis in the first paragraph but I don't believe the second article had a thesis statement. The articles I've used are linked below. #week2#inspo
